Whut you all use in your pan for priming powder???
Last year I switched from 4fg to 3fg & had great results. Seems to handle damp conditions without becoming pasty plus nice not needing to carry 2 different powders since i use 3fg for my load too.

Mostly use what I use for the gun I am carrying. Funny part is that my Smoothbore lights better with a full pan. My .45 likes just a little bit setting in the pan!Just sold a T/C that wasn`t fussy at all, just throw in whatever!

Like Loggy, I use both 3F and 4F, but opt for 3F on damp days. When using the 4F, I try to dump it pretty often throughout the day and brush out the pan thoroughly before adding new primer.

I use 3F in the pan, as well as down the barrel. Goex 3F actually has a coating on the powder that helps slow down moisture absorbtion. Goes off just a quick as 4F for me.

I havent tried 3fg goex in the pan but assume it has th same coating. Noticed a slight sheen on the swiss granuals.

I would sure like to try this new Swiss powder, but I have too many cans of Goex 3F on hand. It continues to go off effectively, so I can't justify shelving it just yet. I thought I was being pretty provocative when I tried French amber flints!
