here's my T/C hawken before.... the grade 4 maple stock from pecatonica river as i got it.... the tang needs to be bent to the stock contour.... got the butt rough cut to fit the butt plate.... the butt plate and trigger guard installed.... ya can see how much wood had to be removed from the maple stock.... the nose cap and final staining with min wax 605 mahogany gel stain.... and the finished rifle with the stain steelwooded down with #0000....i reblued the barrel with birthwood casey's perma-blue to give it an older look with it being a dark grey.... as ya can see the more drop the replacement stock had over the old T/C stock makes fer getting on sight easier....that's why i got the new stock.... she shoots pretty good with 70 grain goex 3f, T/C pre lubed .015 patch and hornady .490 ball....1-2" groups at 50 yards and 3-4" at 100 yards.....................bob

would love to join yer group fer hogs....right now i'm recovering from brain surgery back in august from a tumor that bled into itself a year ago dec 2005....knocked me fer a loop from dec 05 till i had the surgery in august....i stil have balance and coordination issues, i can't run or jog right now or even feel safe on a step ladder....can't blow my nose cause of the right side of my face being parilized from my mouth to my eye and my right eye doesn't blink by itself, lost my hearing in my right ear also....can't ride my mountain bike yet or ever, i don't know yet....my right arm wrist area wants to quiver a bit every now and then....the doc says 12 to 18 months before i might get back 75% of my face movement back or not, hard to say with nerve damage....up till august before the surgery i looked like i was drunk all the time, couldn't walk a straight line if my life depended on it....i haven't driven since jan 06 till bout a month or so ago....had to learn how to eat all over again after the surgery....the good side is i'm still alive....the tumor was 2 1/4" long x 1 1/2" round, i called it my little turd....lol....by hey i got a deer this year after missing 3 of them with my hawken, dropped it in it's tracks thank god....i got permission to hunt a summer camp over run with deer and squirrels so walking around the flat grassy area was a dream as i can't do to good through the woods yet....i tried to go out hunting oct 14 and 21 the first and last day of muzzleloader season....good thing i didn't see any deer let alone shoot one....the little doe i shot jan 2 just bout wore me out dressing it out, and i was able to drive my car right up to it....well enough of that, thanks fer the offer maybe next year....besides i need a car yet....lol.....................bob

Bob--you are darn lucky to be here!!! Prayers for sure!!! Is that your son? He must be about my boys age. The doc that did my spinal fusion is a brain and spine specialist. He is awesome. Gave me my lilfe back. He has done some brain operations where he has worked on golf ball size and larger brain tumors in people. I know of one guy who had a waffer placed in the tumor in his brain and it took care of it...Gone. Good luck and hope for a speedy recovery. If you need anything PM us and lets see what might be done....Private property for hunting might be possible for you down this way....It a steep hill to the top but its easily done in a truck!
