i think hornady makes these 300 yard sabots.anyone ever try or hear if they are any good?ive seen them before at 15.00 a box for 5 shells..

If you are talking about the Hornady SST, my son has been trying them in his 20 gauge. Quite frankly, they suck! We can't get them to pattern less than a 6" group @ 50 yards. And don't even ask about 100 yards!

$15 bucks for 5 shots....they would have to have lazer guided projectilles before I'll spring for that amount....

il use my inline before paying that much,lightfields are 8-9.00 alone for 5 thats expensive enough.

I'll stick to the FEDERAL TRU-BALL's at $4.79 for 5..never saw one shoot better in a smooth bore...or hit harder...my oh my !!

I tried 2 boxes of them in my 20ga. Ultra Slug Hunter, just for grins. I have to agree,,,,they suck. At 50 yards I could have got better groups using a slingshot. I didn't even bother shooting the last 3. I threw them in the trash. Lightfields seem to do the best from this gun.

I have to agree with you guys,Those SSTs do suck. I don't remember ,reading on the box that they were 300 yard sabots,after all, most slugs drop like a rock around 150 to 175 yards, maybe I'm missing something! I'll stick with my lightfield Hybrids,they shoot nices groups at 100yards.
