Homestead Hunting Preserve 11334 Silverthorn rd Edinboro PA 16412 814-734-4316 Owned by Dan & Kathy Netzler Had an excellent time here, they have only been in business for 3 years & are well on their way to being a prime preserve. Grounds were very well set up, well groomed with great cover of dwarf sorghum, corn, and brush strips. All the cover was very well maintained and easy to hunt. Lunch is provided and was excellent(stuffed cabbage, mashed taters & desserts), as was the hospitality of Dan & Kathy. They offer 6 packages at very good prices, custom packages also available. They are currently working on aquiring a regulated dog training grounds license to train dogs year round and will be offering bird dog training classes on Sundays, hopefully available this summer/fall. Guides & dogs available or bring your own. I highly recommend trying this preserve and will be back myself! This is just a portion of the grounds:

Gobblers Knob 414 Zeigler Rd Rochester PA 15074 724-601-6441
Gobblers Knob, a 250 acre preserve located just 22 miles outside of Pittsburgh, we had our first PAO bird hunt here. This is a nice preserve, large open fields, some rolling hills with great views, clubhouse and skeet available(throw your own). Bird cleaning and guides available. Most of the preserve was well set up, although there were some large patches of sorghum(not dwarf) planted that were almost chest high, quite thick and hard to get through. Aside from this though, an overall nice place that offers several different hunting packages or custom hunts.

There is no such thing as a regulated dog training hunting ground license. Dogs can be trained year round on a regulated hunting ground but you may not kill birds that are on the license outside of the regulated hunting ground season.
