Fo me...it normally starts very early in the Lower Susquehanna. End Feb thru April is when those Big Chesapeake /Susky Flats Channels migrate up towards Conowingo Dam in MD. Normally high water & tuff fishing but over the years i have caught my largest channels then.
How about where u catfish...whens the best time of year??

only really been catfishin once... last summer at shawnee lake in bedford county but we caught 40-50 fish (probably 30 cats) in 3 days

Usually early April thru May here. June is the spawn for channels here,,,then you may as well hang it up for awhile. August starts the big flatheads feeding...

On the PGC web site, under recent catches--Northeast region, there's a picture of a guy holding two nice looking cats that he caught while ice fishing.

Around April here starts the channels coming up the creeks to spawn. Great time if you catch a good run!
