As for "hearing" things, I've heard about even for and against. Personally I have had two Taurus handguns. The first was a .357 DA revolver. It shot so low that I could not even have the front sight milled enough to bring it up to target. I hated it. The second was a Raging Hornet. Stainless 10" barrel, .22Hornet 8 shot. It shot nice, but constantly the cylinder would jam and not revolve. Hated it also. I just recently heard of one of those "Judge" guns (45LC/.410) that when fird, the entire barrel flew off. I will NEVER own another one.

I have also heard good and bad things about them. If your in the market for a carry pistol I own a p11 kel-tec in 9mm and love itbut I just shot my buddys new LCP Ruger this weekend and that is a 380 but man is that a sweat little gun. Again if your in the market for a carry gun check them out and they are also priced below 300. JMO

I owned only one. A Taurus PT-908, What a POS. shipped it back to Miami 3 times ,for repairs, and it never ever functioned properly.I sold it at a great loss, and bought a Glock 23. I'll never consider another Taurus product again ! IMO they are nothing but paper weights,or boat anchors,I would never even think of carrying one for personal protection. JMO

I have heard from a very close hunting buddy that the taurus revolver he owned was a POS. He traded it in on a ruger like mine.
IMO if you are looking for a carry weapon buy a glock in 357sig or 40S&W. Another option is the S&W model SF40W. They are very dependable, mainly because they copied everything but the grip from Glock and got sued over it. Another opinion I have is anything less in caliber is a waste of time for defense. Unless you can draw from under your coat and make a flawlessly placed shot before an assailant shoots their already drawn gun.

I have owned several Taurus revolvers and never had any problems. One of my favorites was the model 85 in 38 special. I currently own the judge and it is a very good gun. My personal carry gun in the kel-tec pf9 in 9 mm it is a Herat hand gun for someone who is skinny like me very easy to conseal and mine shoots great
