I am going to Quebec in Oct. for moose and can't decide on a bullet for my 300 Win Mag. I keep going back and forth between the 180 gr Hornady Interbond and the old standby 180 Nosler Partition. I have heard more than a few complaints about the Nosler not opening up on game up to and including elk. I use 165gr Hornady BTs for deer and of course roll my own. Thanks Rex

I took my Alaska moose with my 30/06 and Federal Premiums with 180gr Nosler Partitions. Broadside shot, rangefinder measured at 297yds, one shot in the chest. He took one step and fell over. No problems with the NP's at this end!

Thank you, I know many of the pros use Noslers and that is way I am leaning but have had wonderful luck with Hornady boat tails. My buddy uses regular interlock Hornady for elk and has had great success with them.

I've seen alot of bullets come and go in the world of reloading but ONE, the NOSLER PARTITION has been around many moons, it is one of the best designs ever in the world of hunting.. I've been using them in my 7mm mag since the 70's and have never had to shoot anything more than once with it... the X-bullets are in the same league.. I'd take on anything in North America with an XLC... they can't be stopped and will smash anything the hit, shoulder bones and all.. a good 180 grain partition or X-bullet will send any moose to moose heaven in a heart beat..like anything else, most people don't give bullet construction much thought but those two, will win in every case... about as good as it gets in the hunting world.. I hear alot of talk about rifles, bullets, hunting harvests and have never heard a complaint about either.. they stand the test of time without question...

Thank you for your opinion Frank. Still flipping in my mind but agree about bullet construction. A deer bullet may fail totally on something the size of a moose and vice versa when going too stout in construction.

I use deer bullets on moose. Remington Core-Lokts to be exact. I'm talking with a 30-06 now. But I shot through my moose twice this past year.

.300 RUM in your case BG. You could use the power level II ammo and be shooting .300 Win mag though.

If you shoot the 25-06 first the .300 will feel like a beast. ;D
