Swollen creeks and murky, cold water made for a slow morning on the Yellow Breeches. I only had two light taps before 10:30 am! Relatively few fish landed nearby, even though I had firsthand knowledge of the numbers and size of the fish in there. Out of eleven goldens, only three were caught, one was released. Largest maybe 17". Saw one rainbow nearly 20" caught and my buddy lost one identical. I didn't start hitting numbers of fish until midday as the water level receded somewhat and the sun warmed the water. Many fishermen had cleared out by then, and I ended up with about twenty trout all under a foot by day's end. Didn't keep anything. Mostly on glitter green powerbait and bread (dough) balls. Only a couple on minnows and a couple on waxworms. I didn't fish Sunday, but imagine the fishing was a bit better. Plenty of trout that weren't caught on Saturday should make for some good fishing later this week! How'd everyone else do?
