Met up with a new friend out running dogs the other day, Bob & I got together today to do some retrieving work, he runs some really nice labs. I got some good pointers (no pun intended ;D) for training Tara better on her distance marks & got to see some excellent dog work! Heres one of his labs doing a distance mark/retrieve, if you look across the pond at the white cloth on the opposite shore...that is where the launcher is. The sendoff: Hitting the shore returning with the duck nice finish Here's another one, hopefully he will come on and fill in the names....I could only remember one was named Mikey -he has 3

Nice pictures. I was pleased to see my dogs posted. That's Tommy Joe, Jesse, and Mikey. I'm sure proud of those boys.

It's quarter to 6 am and it's time to get up and do some training. Meeting up with some people that claim to have a new spot to train. Always, always on the look out for a new look for the dogs and I'll go a ways to find one. Live in the Erie County area and if you have a lead for me for a new spot to train let me know. Long marks, short difficult marks, field trial or hunt test marks. Sure would appreciate it.

Hey Bob, great to see you made it on!! You'll have to forgive my old brain for not remembering the dogs names, don't think I heard you call your Jesse by name though, would have remembered that one as I have a Jesse!! Give me a call if you want to get together for some work, oh, I found chukars also, $4. BTW....Tara got over her uncertainty on the live ducks REAL quick yesterday!! Had no problem tracking one over water, the diving didn't throw her much, she stayed on the bird well & did catch it & retrieve it unharmed. (I was sure she'd crunch it)

For her first time on a live duck, I was very pleased with her, she was very driven to get it & didn't let up on searching for it, the second time I released it and sent her for it, she about took bitlife off his feet, LOL!!(he was in her way......) Tara after the duck(look across the pond, far side): Retrieving it (it had gotten into the cattails & she managed to catch it)

It's nice to see that Tara caught on so quickly, that would be nice to reward her with some brand new chuckars. Just got home from training and me and the dogs are dog tired. Got together with two other guys we had seven dogs at a nice little spot with two ponds that may have been brush hogged about a week ago. The water was choked with weeds which made a tough swim for the dogs, but we made sure they were all successful and happy. The dogs are sleeping so I'm going to take advantage of that and take a nap too. See Ya.
