Went by myself this AM after grouse (Buddy went archery), what a pretty morning!! Lot of snow, bad thing was branches hanging badly, was like driving through a tunnel & many hitting the van, some downed: Got to my spot, snowing pretty good, Jesse was having a blast, his first snow!! Everything covered Hit the woods, wassn't long before Tara locked up, got a shot, but missed.(as if you had to ask.. ;D) Soon after Tara and Jesse were on point, heard 2, never saw them though, was thick & with branches hanging low, hard to see, this is where they were Put up one other, Jesse pointed it (his first grouse point! To thick for a pic though) Again had a shot and....well, you know. After a few hours, Jesse was wet, cold and tired, so put him up & headed to another spot with Tara. Didn't walk long & noticed her watching us: She was a biggun'!! Soon had another bird: Put up 3 others after this one, 10 total. Nothing but some pics of the great outdoors to show for our day, but it was a beautiful day to be in the woods, saw a good number of birds in the short time we were out, only hunted about 3 hrs! Working tomorrow & heading back out Monday...maybe, just maybe I'll get lucky & hit one then!

Great pictures. Down here it was a constant drizzle and heavy fog. My son and I flushed five grouse. I only got a shot at one and I also missed.

It was a fun day, dogs worked well, Jesse AKA "Bubba" (he's almost as big as Tara at 5 mnths!) had a point & the grouse was about 20 ft up in a tree, not sure how he winded it, but he locked up well, not bad for a young pup!! Woods sure were pretty today & I could have had that doe if I was out with my ML. BTE, it turned to rain here as well, I was soaked when I quit, turned to rain around 30 minutes after I got out.
