Here's what I found:: For me, you can take the pellets and throw them into the river!. The large end flakes off when loading and causes some minor problems with loading the bullets. Also, I personally found they don't match the grain for grain like Pyrodex or 777 pellets. I would see "tracers" telling me that all the powder was not being burned in the barrel. I switched to fffg loose APP. Trying to match grain for grain (100gr loose vs. two Pyrodex pellets) my groups looked like I'd hit the targbet with a shotgun. All over the paper. I then worked up loads in 5gr increments and found 90gr brought my groups right on the money. As to it's properties:: It cleans up with cold water and requires less cleaning than with Pyrodex or 777. The APP test is now well over 5000 shots without cleaning. I personally have gone to 35 shots and the lasa bullet loaded nearly as easy as the first. To sum up APP, I love it (Loose fffg). I would never go back to pellets, unless APP quits trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. And would only continue using pellets after that if they arre giving the same accuracy as Pyrodex or 777.

I have to agree ,i am disapointed to say the least with the APP sticks there seems to be a lot of inconsistency in loading them. i have no idea why they make them square .

Because Clean Shot was sued out of business by Hodgdon for making them round. They made round pellets for a while. It's the same powder as American Pioneer.
