if i have time i run a prelubed borebutter patch and a dry patch between every shot, until it starts loading hard, then i clean with #13,when the days over it gets a hot soapy bath and set it by the woodstove for the night.

Buckslayer, being I shoot a White ML, I really don't have to swab between shots cause I just shoot connicals. Now if I was to shoot sabot type bullets that would be a different story. Now that I've said that, if I'm going for accuracy (Load Development) I'll swab between shots to help ensure each shot is shot under the same circumstances.

i clean mine after each hunt wether its been fired or not, i like having my guns well cleaned and oiled up after each time out.
that way they stay in good shape and i won't have to worry about having a ammo in one, better safe then sorry in my book.

With my inline, I generally swab the barrel every 2 or 3 shots when I'm on the range.
If I shoot it out in the field, it gets a thorough cleaning that evening.

Every shot. May sound crazy but it's repetitive and I don't even think twice about it. Keeps gun cleaner and easier to clean when done.

Wet patch then a dry one. Barrel and action cleaning once I get home. I don't remove the barrel from the stock every time I clean. I'm a bit picky about risking a POI shift. If I'm just working on loads or practicing I'll pull barrel to clean it. I don't pull the barrel from the time I make the final range trip before season until the season is over. I've never had any problems yet. A good gun oil and stainless steel sure does the trick.
