Summit is a good stand .I got the viper which I like but you might not like. Got mine through Cabelas. You could get it cheaper on e-bay but it better be a steal and in good shape.

Havent been price checkin' them, but i have the summit viper ss. Not a bad stand.
a bit of a "snug" fit with cold weather clothes on, but comfortable, good stable well built stand.

LOL.Those old loggies were nice and stable once you strapped them in but they were a death trap when climbing.I scuffed up my face and chest more than once while sliding down a tree doing the death grip.
I use a Lone wolf now but did own a Summit cobra that had the same size top section as the viper minus the climbing bar.I shoot most of my deer while I'm sitting so I don't like a bar surrounding me.Like Guru stated, they can be a little snug so I'd definately get the Goliath if I were buying a summit. The Lone wolf with the bew wider top blows the summit away in my experience but they're more expensive. They don't have the comfort of a summit but that's easily remidied by simply buring a summit seat.

Dont get me wrong, i find the stand VERY comfortable. The seat is great. You can fall asleep in it if you dont watch. lol. The snug fit i spoke of was the side bars on the climber section down below the armpits. I have a 48" chest and with many clothes on it gets snug. Not "tight" but might effect manueverability if your a rifle hunter who sits and shoots.
Doug, i had a loggy and also for many many years had a tss sniper. Used it still until fairly recently. It had the rubber grips. I climbed hugging the tree, and actualy felt more secure doing so then when i first bought a climbing stand with the climber, and i was no longer touching the tree while climbing. I still use it occaissionally. I can climb trees with large lumps, crooked sections stubs sticking out etc. Not so with todays climbers like summit. Also much smaller and less cumbersome carrying in thickets.

I have been looking around $$ and the Goliath looks very good but your right the lone wolf one looks great but lowest price i found is around $100 more then the Goliath i still love my loggy and climbing aid and only slipped once in 16yrs added a piece of lunan board and some outdoor carpet on it because the bars bothered my feet and always felt safe up the tree
