Looking into 1 of these and wanted to see if any one else had 1 and pros and cons of such units. Theres a thread on here from 2007 on these and 2 replies hoping it grew by now with some more reviews.

Does the dehydrator properly/thoroughly cook the meat in the process, or is it dried raw?

Id say it dries the meat cooking it thats why it takes 6-8-10 hrs to do it.

BH45 your page didn't pop up on Cabelas but I have a good idea what it looks like seen it on their site. Been searching Nesco dehydrators and on 1 of those sites where you can add comments some people were saying their noisy as all heck. Dont want that people were saying they were using them and they would do it in the basement that's how noisy they were. Iknow mine is on its last legs.

Dehydrator's are great, using 4 or 5 trays, i can make deer jerky in 5 hours, they are well worth the money.
