I was contacted by a rescue colleague in NYS. This past weekend, folks found a German Shorthaired Pointer wandering the streets in Pittsburgh, no ID, no chip, no collar. So the folks pick him off the Pittsburgh street and drive to western New York and drop him off at a vet's office??!!
He probably slipped his collar and his owners are looking for him but he's now hundreds of miles away.
If you hear of anyone looking for their GSP, please have them contact me.

Update! The Humane Society called the NYS vet office to see if it was possibly the same GSP logged as missing by the owners who were looking everywhere. It transpires that the GSP was actually stolen and transported to NYS. The vet office was a random choice by the thief to dump him as 'found' and amazingly, the receiving vet tech owns German Shorthaired Pointer and contacted the former GSP Rescue coordinator in NYS which started this whole thing rolling. The owner is pressing charges against the thief and I hope she does time.
