I never hunted for sheds but I was talking to a neighbor and he said that the Game Commission recently allowed you to do so. I thought it was legal since forever. What gives?

Nope,it's only been legal to keep them for the past few years. You still can't take any other wildlife parts however. In onther words,no skulls or antlers that didn't fall off naturally.

You mean IF I find a skull and a pile of bones in the woods far from a road with antlers still on it I can't keep the skull?

Yep,they would be illegal possession of wildlife parts. It's the same as sawing the rack off of a roadkill.Alot of people do it but it's illegal.

Would think that you would be able to get a release ticket from the Game Co. for possession of the skull ?
