Nope. I believe you can catch'em on it maybe once in awhile if you stick with it long enough, but not as well as bait. I dont believe that thing would outfish the "real" thing for catfish.
I might be interesting to play around with just for the novelty value of something different. But seems like the salesman is better than the product if you ask me.lol

Been fishing the river for years. 99 out of 100 times I'm throwing lures. Never caught a catfish. Caught a carp once on a topwater. I ain't buying it!

I caught a Channel Cat on a Spinner bait a couple of times and on a Mr. Twister once and a Rapala once and a tube lure once ,a crankbait once all while fishing for Bass in the Mon.They'll eat anything that looks like or smells like food. They're nature's water crows and buzzards.Think about it. Manmade lures are designed to catch fishermen FIRST! Right? This is America, remember? Make a dollar first!

I dont know about this guys lures but during the hot months, one of my favorite GOTO lures for Cats is a red and white daredevil... Learned about them from an old man if I can remember who fished the spillway in south connellsville called "Duke". They seem to work best on lakes though.

i fish all year round and target many different types of fish. catfish being one of them. what people dont realize is that catfish especially channel cats are moe like game fish in that they actively hunt bait fish. i have caught many channel cats on lures. one of my favorites is the jitterbug. a black jitterbug at night will hook you some big cats.many cats will take a live bluegill before a dead shinner. the brown bullheads are more of a bottem feeder and i havent caught many on lures but as i said channel cats will. i caught a 12lb er on a rebel wee craw just last month while fishing a bass tournament on the allegheny river. i thought i had the lunker only to reel in a big cat. it did however make for a tasty sandiwch that night.
