Marcellus Firm Pays $93K For Fouling W. Pa. Stream POSTED: 9:09 am EST December 15, 2011 Email Print 0 comments CLEARFIELD, Pa. (AP) -- A Marcellus drilling company has agreed to pay $93,710 to settle claims by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission that it polluted a high quality trout stream in west-central Pennsylvania. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Houston-based EOG Resources, Inc., will also pay $65,000 toward a yet-to-be-determined environmental project in the watershed of the Little Laurel Run creek in Clearfield County near Parker Dam State Park. The settlement is the fourth involving the company and the Fish Commission this year, and the second involving alleged pollution of the Little Laurel Run stream. EOG has paid more than $302,000 to settle those allegations. The other two settlements included pollution of Alex Branch and an aquifer that feeds a spring at the Sykesville Hunting Camp nearby. almost sounds like they know there is going to be another problem and want to try to save face with people in the area.
four settlement totaling over 302,000 and the second involving the same stream, why dosent the state pull their license to drill? if i made four "mistakes" costing 302,000 i would be fired for sure but i guess its more profitable to someone to let them continue what they are doing.

Thats what is sad! They should have them pack it up and get out, but you know as well as I money and greed takes all. They see the dollar signes and that is all that matters. When these clowns are done drilling and have devistated our land scape and water ways they will pack up and head back to Texas and Oklahoma and will never look back! They don't care what happens here, they just want people to think they do.

The costs will probably be passed along to you know who. Hold on to your wallet.

Not enough zeroes on the end of that figure.
