This was the end of regular firearms. Not big or anything, but I've never seen one before. So I shot it.

You might be right. I caught 3 deer Monday on the flintlock opener. Two were bucks and one I was not sure about. The biggest was a 120-140 class buck and I second guessed myself and let him get away. He was 40 yards facing me with just 3 little pencil sized branches blocking the brisket. I should have taken the shot. So far I haven't lost my job, suffered any injuries, or any deaths though. I'm glad neither of my great grandfathers are alive though. They were both pure blood American Indians.

Cool looking deer.Did you know it was around? There's been an almost white piebald a few miles from my house for about 7 years now. This spring a regular brown doe in the same spot had two pure white bb's.Traffic was crazy all summer long with people checking them out and taking pictures. Two youg guys ended up shooting both bb's during archery season and now that whole area is posted shut.I have no issue with someone shooting a white deer but those people are ready to tar and feather the guys that killed those deer.
