Dont know what ya had but for the money check out the Garret ace 250. Them are very easy to use and self ground balancing and all. Basically you turn it on and thats it. My son and I both have an ace 250 and are finding lots of cool things. Did pretty good just on clad change at he beach on vaction. I believe our total between the 2 of us was like 22 dollars. Not bad for and hour a day on the beach and its just fun time to spend with the kids.

stroupy, look into a fisher F2 or the Garret Ace250. I have the ace250 and love it and so does my son. You can discriminate all things you dont want out and just get the tones you want. You do have to dig the mid tones if ya want gold however. Also you will pull alot of pull tabs because they read similar to god also. Good luck
