My beagle Annie will bury any rabbit me or mrlongbeard shoot, she is 6 years old, and she has been doing this since day one, we eventually get them off of her even after she has them under leaves or snow, and we will then put them in our vests. and she will hunt for more but it'll start all over again when she gets to a downed rabbit, she'll hurry and bury it. our first beagle we had for 15 years never did this, maybe it's just her. then again if I shoot a chipmunk in my yard and she is there she'll grab it and bury it!

Hey Skwirl, she even has respect for the rabbits that are road kill! when I walk her and if she comes across a dead one, she'll want to pick it up and find a "spot" for it:) I don't let her ofcourse.

That is cool! Guess you have to get to it before she hides it on you! Her version of hide and seek!

They just taste better after being buried for a few weeks, you should try it sometime.
