I have minimal blowback on my TC Pro Hunter but my White Super 91 has its share as I also know Knights & some other TC In-lines etc do too. I always used elec tape on scope bottom but an thinkin of gettin one of these from RMC. Looks pretty nice! Plus would serve to help weatherize. How do you all deal with blowback?

As a non in-liner, breech blow back isn't something I'm familiar with, but it doesn't sound pleasant. What allows this to happen, and is it dangerous to the shooters eyes? These new weapons aren't exactly cheap. It seems a bit bizarre that the makers haven't removed any such drawbacks, or am I missing something?

Chuck, its the pressure blowback through the breech area that soots up the breech plus leaves residue on scope. When shooting you really dont notice it. Just upon clean-up. ;D It can permanently marr a scopes underside w/excessive shooting. The TC Pro-Hunter has minimal blowback due to innovative breechplug design w/ gas compression rings on the face of the breech plug. If buying an in-line i highly recommend a TC Pro Hunter with the innovative speed breech plug. The Speed Breech is a quick release breech plug (patent-pending) that can be removed by rotating it only 90 degrees. No longer do you have to struggle with seized breech plugs or the time-consuming chore of making eleven rotations to remove your breech plug. Three gas compression rings on the face of the breech plug eliminates 95% of harmful blowback. “Speed Breech™…90° and out”

You know, my Winchester X-150 is a bolt gun, but I don't seem to have that problem. My sil's T/C plunger type does have that problem though. He's used just the black electrical tape thing on his.

Good point gdaddy. i used the elec tape too in protecting bottom of scope. I'm gonna get one of the above for my White Super 91 (plunger style) to also serve as keeping the weather out. It's a #11 in-line and not quite as resistant to weather as a 209.
