is it still necessary to align your blades with your vanes for good arrow flight. now a days the bows are so good and the arrows are way better than before is it necessary to still go thru this.

I would say no.
I have never in 23 years bothered to align my broadheads and have been able to achieve excellent accurracy out to 50 yds with it that way.
My suggestion is lock in a couple broadheads and shoot groups at each of your yardages and see for yourself. With my setup I am grouping under 2 inches and am hitting the exact same spot at all for of my pin settings(20,30,40 and 50).
good luck

Absolutely not. If so you would need 4 fletched arrows to get 4 blade heads to fly and it's not necessary.
If they won't fly true something is off in the tuning.

It was never necessary to do so.How you you align the brodhead with helical fletch? How you you align a 4 bladed head with the fletch? If the brodhead is spinning, like it should be,how could it possible make a differance.

I have to agree with dougell on this. Although we did it many years ago, we were looking for a better way to stabilize broadheads. Little did we know that aligning the heads with the shaft was much more important, not to say anything about having the right spined shaft in the first place. With the bigger bladed heads of yesteryear it may have helped but:
With the heads we have today, smaller blades and just more education in the first place, it is not necessary. There are a multitude of things that can affect broadhead flight. This is just not one of them.

all good points but i think the design of todays broadheads is the factor behind not needing to do this now.

You never needed to do it.I used to shoot 130 gr 4 bladed muzzies back in the late 80's and early 90's and they always shot right with my field points. It's all about tuning, form and clearance.
