my bowtech guardian has a brace height of 7.125. just on the forgiving side. what is the brace height of your weapon of choice. and do you find it harder to shoot bows under 7 inch brace.

My hoyt pro-tec has a 8 3/4" brace ht , 40"ata and was one of the most forgiving bows that i have ever owned. several years ago i had a high country short ata and a 5 1/2 " brace ht and i believe that was the most unforgiving bow that i have ever shot.

Honestly, it boils down to just how consistent your form is. Certainly a taller brace height will be more forgiving of shooter errors.
Another thing that enters into the picture is draw length. Given a certain brace height a person with a shorter draw length CAN be more consistent, simply because the arrow is on the string a shorter amount of time.
That being said, I am a fairly short draw guy by a lot of standards, at 27" give or take 1/8". I have shot bows as short as 5 3/4" brace and as tall as 9 3/8" with equal effectiveness. I prefer around 7" to 7 1/2", but don't quibble about that 1/2".
I actually choose my bows according to much more important criteria, A2A being one of them, which equates to string angle and how the string hits my chosen anchor points at full draw. For me this means I need bows that measure somewhere between 35" and 39".
I might add that by "anchor points" I don't mean where my drawing hand is positioned on my face. I don't even know where it is. I mean that when I draw a bow, the nock is vertically under my eye. The string crosses just to the right of center on my lips and my nose is on the string. All this without moving my head at all. I adjust the draw length accordingly, tweaking to the last 1/8". And no kisser button dragged back to the corner of my mouth. That's just about the distance my arrow nock is drawn to. Anything longer is too long. And I don't use a kisser button anyway, never have.

i prefer a brace height of over 7 for shooting. most manufactures use the short brace for the for getting the extra speed out of the bow. went to short ata because of the tree stand use. lost two shoots because of clanging against my stand.
