I can not fork out the big $$$ for a scent lock suit so I am looking for pointers on what you have used successfully. I will be ground blind hunting archery.

try washing your clothes in a scent free soap and hang them on the line to dry .and use some cover scent. i use earth wafers that pin to your hat or clothing.i see alot of hunters that were black in their ground blinds.

I've used the following for years when it comes to my camo, staying scent free and covering my scent. 1) Hand wash your clothes in baking soda or any unscented soap. DO NOT use commercial laundry detergent or an automatic washer. The commercial laundry detergents and any residue of these left in a washing machine do exactly what they are intended to do..clean and BRIGHTEN..the last thing you want.... 2) Hang them outside to air dry...OUT of the sun and keep them out of the suns rays as they will fade quickly. 3) When not being worn for hunting pack them away in a sealed plastic bag such as a clean garbage bag and put leaves, tree bark etc. inside. Be careful that you match what you put in the bag with what is natural to the area you hunt. Don't put pine branches/needles in if you intend to hunt hardwoods as a smart Deer may pick up that this scent is foreign to the area. 4) And last but not least but most importantly NEVER NEVER wear your hunting clothes for anything but hunting and outdoors. Not in the house, not pumping gas...no where but hunting. You'd be amazed at how easily and quickly your clothes can pick up foreign odors when exposed to them for just a short period of time. Follow these precautions and in my opinion you'll never need any of the fancy scent lock clothing etc. I've been following these rules for years and I've had Deer and Bear within spitting distance of me and I can't recall the last time one winded me. My Buck I killed last year was maybe 10 yds away and he never winded me. just my .02

jeff hit the nail on the head. that's an easy way to kill scent. i also carry scent killer wipes so after a long walk back to the stand. i can wipe the sweat off my face and hands. i also have two sets of scent lok one for cold and one for hot weather. and i use a lot of dead down wind sprays. i figure every little bit helps. never got busted last year except for some movement on my part.
