lots of good broadheads to use. but tuning and speed play a part in which one you use. but as with anything there are exceptions to the rules. a well tuned bow in the hands of a good shooter will shoot anything.

I agree that excess speed is overrated.
I disagree strongly that you can't get broadheads to fly strait at well in excess of 300 fps.

not trying to say that it's just for people who don't put forth the time and effort to tune the bow right. as i said in the hands of a good shooter anything will fly right.

I think the bow industry will keep going faster and faster... The speed a bow shoots IMO is a marketing thing...As most know their are many that have to have the newest, FASTEST bows out there....... Speed sells Do you think if they would start marketing bows by kinetic energy they would keep selling the new bows every year....i think not cause everyone would realize they are getting the same kinetic energy from various bows even your bows from the 90's, and some low end makes and models. The experienced archer goes for the well tuned and highest kinetic energy possible and let the speed fall where it may. Gotta love XMANS saying "A fast miss is still a miss" love it !!! Now as for 3-d and target shooters speed may be the ticket, but as for hunting situations SPEED is just a selling tool IMO.

some seem to think that 400fps is coming. and most accessory manufacturers could make millions if thgey could claim that everything they sell will increase speed

I am good friends with a guy who has built a bow that recorded 391 fps at IBO specs. It's purely experimental at this time but I have seen it, shot it and it's proof that it can be done... It shot 391 through his chronograph, he shipped it to me and it repeated the same speed through my chronograph so it's no fluke.
