i use mostly weaver steel rings and bases, decent prices, strong as any on the market, and you can get them just about anywhere. as for scopes Leoupold,Redfield,Bushnell,Nikon, the last three scopes i bought have been nikons,my opinion, nikon is the best buy out there right now.crisp, clear, fogproof, waterproof, and they are several hundred dollars less than leoupold with the same lifetime warranty.

Leupold's are overpriced, i have two and i have not been impressed.redfield widefield illuminator 3x9x42 and burris fuulfield ii 3x9x40 are the two best buys on the market, theredfield can be bought at cdnn.com for $179in black or silver, and th burris can be found on ebay for $159 in black. (silver $209 on midway usa). i like millett rings hooked to wever bases, the millett rings are windage adjustable, althou alittle pricey at $25 they are cheaper than leupold rings

I always opt for solid steel bases & rings whether it be Warne, Weaver Grand Slams etc.
So far the best scope i found at $200 is the Bushnell Elite 3200. It has quality jap glass/construction. Had it on my 10 ML-II & it really was bright & handled the pounding.
Have several Leupolds and have had a long excellent ownership experience with them. They of course will run a hundred or couple over the Bushnell Elite. The Weaver Classics are a decent scope...also quality jap glass/construction.
:)So many great scopes out there today...all ya can do is relate ur experiences with others.
I do think one thing many agree on is the solid steel bases & rings make the best mounting system though no matter whuts ur favorite scope.
