Archer, I ordered a left-handed flintlock fowler kit from Brad Emig of Cabin Creek Muzzleloaders. He's in Hellam, Pa. He informed be recently that he'll have all the parts ready in a few days. He is a good man to deal with.

He is a good man to deal with. I stopped by Brad's store several years ago when I bought my Goex BP. He build very nice guns! - I'm sure you won't be disappointed by the kit. Other options are available from trackofthewolf.om or dixiegun.com Hope that helps, -Mike

Yeah, I'm a natural lefty too - my dad gave me a LH Lyman Great Plains flint a few years back. It wasn't a kit, and it's not in the same class as one of Brad's, but not a bad gun either by any means. I thought Lyman had a LH kit, but a quick check of their website showed I was mistaken. -Mike

Archer, Mike is correct about Dixie Gun Works offering a left-handed kit. My 2007 catalog has one called the Dixie Hawken in .50 cal fllintlock (p.25) for $290.00. It must go together pretty easily with some sanding and finishing because the finished gun sells for $325.00. Welcome to the wonderful world of flintlocks. Trust me, one gun won't be enough!

Mike, I'm sure my fowler kit will be top notch. I just got home from the range shooting my .54 cal. Yorktown Brad built for me a few years ago. It continues to shoot better than I can shoot it, but it's ready for Saturday!

Yeah I am looking Like I said I got the fever. i enjoy the primitive science of it. The simplicity that makes it work is amazing and after 4 or 5 shots I was feeling pretty confident.

(I have a percussion Deerstalker too). Good Luck Saturday everyonr. -Mike

By the way, Mike, welcome to PAOutdoors. Great to have you here.
From your introduction, I would think you and your wife are pretty busy at this stage of family building to preclude any rifle building at this time, and the near future. My grandchildren are older than your boys, so you see, I have a little spare time to tinker with putting these wonderful firearms together.
The deeper you get hooked on these flintlock long guns, the closer you'll get to the building addiction. Be Careful!!

By the way, Mike, welcome to PAOutdoors. Great to have you here. Thanks for the warm welcome! From your introduction, I would think you and your wife are pretty busy at this stage of family building to preclude any rifle building at this time, and the near future. <snip> No truer words were ever spoken... It's OT, but I bought a Mauser about 10 years ago with the thought of sporterizing it....sold it to my brother before I even disassembled it after ~2 yrs. The boys pretty much take a ton of my hobby time, but I love them and wouldn't trade this life for anything (most days! ;D ). The deeper you get hooked on these flintlock long guns, the closer you'll get to the building addiction. Be Careful!! Having been in Brad's storefront a few years back, AND being a do-it-yourselfer, I do already have an itch to build. Must resist...for now. Thanks again, -Mike PS My kids haven't seen me shoot the flint yet, only the perc Deerstalker, but the GPR will be out soon...

Mike, you're going to have many, many years to make memories with your boys. This morning I hunted about 500 yards from where my son shot his first buck at age 14. He's 41 now. I was thinking this morning how clearly I can still see that opening morning and how exciting it was for the two of us, even the long drag back to the car.
We still rehash that hunt from time to time, and I'm sure it will be discussed on our long drive to Tennessee for Loggy's boar hunt in November.
Have a great season.

Thanks. Yes, I hope to be blessed enough to create memories like those. I certainly have fond memories of hunting with my dad & brother while growing up.
Best wishes for a great saeason for you as well.
