check under leafs for worms or bugs. will check my info for reason. info says slugs, snails or to much sun. need some shade. buttercrunch not very heat resistane. for snails check at night and use diatomaceous earth from garden center.

Checked for bugs, none & no lower leaves bothered at all. Put out slug traps anyway to see if thats it, thanks!! May just pick tomorrow.......really needs about one more week though. Have read some about diatomaceous earth, will get some tomorrow & use that too since it's not toxic at all, that way if it doesn't work at least i can pick & eat right away!

the recent hot weather could cause a problem. to dry? Am thinking to much sun, put some boards for shade around them....hoping this helps, been watering well. Read most lettuces don't like a lot of sun. Any idea of how to tell buttercrunch is ready to pick? Never grew it, seems decent sized, but hasn't been in for a month yet....
