ANYONE THINKING ABOUT SPRING OR SUMMER FOOD PLOTS? I BEEN ON MY PROPERTY CLEANING UP AN OLD ORCHARD ABOUT AN ACRE. SEND FOR A SOIL SAMPLE SOON.ITS A LOT OF WORK BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT I HOPE ;D

I won’t be planting food plots this spring I will plant trees. I have 40 1 year old Chinese chestnut trees I started from seed in the garden and I ordered 25 Apple trees and 25 Dwarf Chinquapin Oak from the PAGC for some new areas I found that look promising. This past fall I planted about 15 pounds of chestnut. Over several timbered cuts that hopefully in a few years will produce and provide some prime hunting for years to come for myself and countless hunters to come

I'll reseed my clover and get ready for the fall turnips/rape.Might plant a few pear trees.

SEND FOR A SOIL SAMPLE SOON.ITS A LOT OF WORK BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT I HOPE ;D Definitely....right now is the time when you want to start disking and planting for the spring.....something you might want to try is Antlerking Trophy Clover mix....they produce lots of different types of seed...but this stuff is your best all around seed that works for spring, summer and fall....it has 4 different clovers, chicory and rape....I'm also mixing in corn with it as well....with this stuff, you plant once and that's it....once you get it growing good, it lasts for 6+ years....I'm also getting ready to start an small orchard / food plot as well....
