my first bit of advice is buy a up to date reloading manual, a load that may be safe in my rifle might not be safe in yours even if they are built by the same company. when i work up a load for a new caliber i start at least 3 gr below maximum, and shoot 5 shot groups until i find my best combo.checking for signs of pressure with each group.(remember a cold clean bbl. for each load with 1 fouling shot before you shoot for group works for me )

I would suggest first purchasing a box of factory loads in various bullet weights and see what shoots the most accurate in your rifle prior to begining any reloading(will save you some headaches in the long run).
For example - I shoot a Ruger M77 MkII in 22-250 and when I purchased it I bought a box of varing weights and went to the range. I found that with the 1-14 twist favored 55 grain bullets over the others(45 and 65 grains). So I went with the 55 grain bullet.
Once you get that figured out, start low on the powder chart in the reloading manual and load a couple different powder types and weights to find one that is good in your gun.
As an example in my case, I used IMR3031 in my 308 and was happy with it there, so I loaded up a few 22-250 rounds in it and again went to the range. I found that IMR3031 was an excellent powder for my bullet/rifle combo.
I worked my loads up over the years to where I now load 34.0 grains of IMR3031 under a 55 grain Sierra Spitzer. It has been an excellent load for my setup for the past 10 years now.
You just have to experiment with different combinations of loads and bullets to see what will work best in your setup, every rifle shoots differently - including rifles of the same manufacturer.
good luck and enjoy your 22-250 as it is an excellent all around varmit and predator rifle
