The pups must have dispersed....howling in the early evening and early morning are reaching their peak...listening from a spot near the Rock Run Recreation area in Cambria Co..I heard at least two different groups..real high pitched...Going to take my son's XR-6 out and see if I can stir up a few more in my hunting area... talked to a guy last night at a wedding who's a great outdoorman from the PUNXSY area and he told me he's also hearing more in that area than ever before... ANYONE else hearing the howling

No I haven't heard anything yet, BUT if I did that would get the juices flowing even more. I've been out in the field all summer and haven't been getting home till between 9 and 10 pm. If I start with the yote thing, I'm liable to find my supper laying out in the driveway along with most of my other stuff. I just want to ease into yote hunting if you get my drift !!!!!!

Haven't heard a thing around here in several years?? 3 years ago they were around for sure. Have seen some sign in one spot, but not anywhere else......was wondering if maybe distemper or something hit around here & wiped some out, don't hear of many guys chasing them to reduce the population. Now feral cats are a different story!! Having a REAL problem with them at my buddies.....getting into the bird pens, killed about 40 pigeons so far.(definitely cats, he sees them many AM's)

Sounds to me like you need some coyotes in your area..one of their favorite foods is fresh neighborhood cats...we see very few if any wild cats roaming in my area...they are high on the menu list anywhere coyotes are roaming... Saw this trail cam photo on another site...taken recently...

I have a dead deer in the field above my house (roadkill or poucher, that time of year). Last nite it just sounded like out west here. And you are right about the cats it sure cuts down on my *target practice*. Don't know rather to cuss the howler or love them. ;D MM
