I thought fox had a white tipped tail and coyote have a black tipped tail. At night i have a heck of a time telling them apart so i pass on the shot. thats what some one told me. do you know the best way to tell.

matured red fox have a white-tipped tail that i know as far as telling them aprt at night it doesnt really matter a fox is a fox when they are in season they are both in season, but greys are more aggressive and they will run right at u red will not generally run at u they will be more sneeky
