Great post, John. Sadly, there is no political gain to be had doing it your way.

That's what everything is about these days, they couldn't care less about us, just themselves. Its begining to be a very sad state.

My personal opinion is that Iran will push us as long as we keep bickering between ourselves. If you are going to fight a war, fight it and don't argue over stupid political aims. Right now the liberals just want to secure total governmental control and will stop at nothing to get it. Putting an end date on a war is like kissing your sister, sounds good but gets you nothing!

We're not really at war right now. We're basically just policing another country while they try to get their act together and it ain't looking to good.
And I fully agree that if we find the need to go to war, you go all out. None of this half @#$ stuff.
What I don't agree with is rebuilding countries that deserved to get a taste of our military might. If they were bad enough to get bombed, I don't see any reason to help them out any afterwards, especially with my tax dollar.

Rrroae, here is where we disagree. Leaving Iraq totally destitute would have created a haven for terrorist recruiting. When you overrun a country and occupy it, you do rebuild it. We just had a bassackwards plan to do so.
