If Chris Rock was a shock-jock who made that comment nothing would have come of it, it would have been an opening line for comediens for weeks coming. I've listened to rap before, heck they say MUCH worse, where's the picket-line for that??? Why isn't Sharpton on that bandwagon? Imus is guilty of opening his mouth w/o engaging his brain, maybe showing his age some?? No, he shouldn't have said it, he apologized. The media time this is getting is ridiculous!! The good "Rev" Al should go visit his girlfriend, oh that's right he's married.......

Amen Jean!
I watched Imus this morn & saw a very troubled look in his eyes.
We all have said stupid things from time to time and wish we could recall. IMO everything Sharpton says is stupid.
Disappointing he is one of the elected leaders of ur nation. Likely why our country isnt as great as it has the potential to be.

Reminds me of the Jim Zumbo mess, one misspoken thing and poof, you're gone! What they said was stupid, but I think in both cases it was an unthought-out comment, with no bad intentions behind it.

Already do, one girl is saying she is scarred for life now. Even if what he said was meant as a racist slur, he's gone, get on with your life. Glad I'm not sensitive to tall jokes/remarks or I'd be seeing a shrink!!

If the one girl is scared for life because someone called her a name, she has much bigger problems than she knows. I think he should be canned just because he is not funny, not really because of his comments.

MSNBC already dumped him.I think he'll go the Howard Stern route and go satellite. There's really a big market for his kind of commentary-it's just mainstream media(and sponsors) really don't want to support that

To me it seems a shame that 1st amendment rights only apply to certain people,mr imus has a right to free speech, just like everyone else if you dont like what he has to say turn the radio off!!!!!!

I'm not a big fan of the shock-jocks like Imus or Stern and even though he made a stupid remark,he did do alot of work for childrens's programs and has raised $40 million dollars for these programs since 1990.CBS also stands to lose $15 million in annual income from his show
