Police screwed up big time on this, heard that 2 hours before the mass shooting, that the gunman shot and killed someone on a dormitory campus, and the school didn't have a lock down then. and that there were bomb threats 2 weeks before this shooting and no one took action!!!!!!!

This is a horrific, senseless tragedy, my heart goes out to all those who lost their children, brothers, sisters, cousins and friends, they will be in my prayers.

Im pretty sure they thought they had the person in question...but it still dosnt justify for them not to shut the school down

I look into my crystal ball and I see problems coming for the gun owners. Look for all kinds of noise over this one! Anyone else got an opinion on this? MM

Very tragic event. All are in our prayers.
Have been on many college campuses over the years & surprises me this doesnt happen much more often and even to greater extents. Thank God. Remember the days before 911 at an airport? Hope all this doesnt get other psychos' targeting our colleges.

I remember about 8 yrs ago, a gunman went into a college down in SW Virginia and shot some people. Another student went to his car, retrieved his hunting gun and shot the gunman. Of Course you won't hear that.
The thing that keeps marauding bands of gangs from terrorizing the countryside, like they do in the cities, is the deterrence of common gun ownership. Twice in 15 years, I had to at least show a firearm to get criminals to correct their ways on my farm. Once I actually fired a shot into the ground, when 4 threatened to beat me up. They didn't know I was armed when they started at me. Guess the word got around. No one has threatened me since. I like it that way.

What I was getting at was, after the first shooting, the police should of been patroing the whole entire area, as they didn't even know where the gunmen was, they thought he left the campus, apparently not! you never assume anything, there have been too many campus's shootings in the past. a lot of people didn't even know about the first shooting and were going about their day as usual, communication was lost in this one!!!

www.roanoke.com/news/roanoke/wb/wb/xp-50658Talk about irony. Imagine if there had been an armed law abiding student or professor there yesterday. Those comments will be forgotten in a heartbeat now. Instead they'll focus on punishing those who are not guilty of anything except exercising their rights.
