1976, Chestnut Flats, if I remember right, that's off the side of the Timmons. I was in the laurel...cold as all get out and headed to the car. Someone on the ridge fired a shot and next thing I know a little fork horn and a doe ran into the laurel. When they stopped and looked back, I dropped the hammer on the ole model 94! That gun was stolen in 1980. God, how I miss it!
As a side note, my 12 year old took his first big game animal on the 7th of Oct. here in Colorado. He got himself a doe antelope with one shot @ 243 yards using a Ruger M77 in .270! Oh yeah, he's the best hunting partner I've ever had!

My first was a small 3 point taken with my mother's 32 Remington, when I was 13 years old back in 1953. Took him in Saterlee hollow in Bradford County.

1992 in northern westmorland county I tagged him with a winchester Model 94 30-30 at 35 yards. Dropped to a Winchester 170 power point. Then I had to drag him 1 1/2 miles to the truck by myself cause everyone else was still hunting! Shot him at first light.
