any good recipes for deer meatloaf?thanks we usually grind our deer up..

Meatloaf itself is a pretty basic thing, just about any recipe will do. What makes it interesting is that you can twist it a million different ways depending on how adventurous you'd like to be. My own basic recipe starts with about two pounds of ground meat and I build on it from there. I usually put just a handful of the meat in my food processor and add two bullion cubes and run that up until it stops rattling and then add it back into the rest of the meat. Before I clean the processor, I use it to chop a large onion and that gets added to the mix. Next comes a couple of eggs, and I begin mixing. About halfway through the mixing I can already tell if it's too wet, and if it is, or if I just want to make the meatloaf even bigger, I throw a couple of slices of fresh bread into the processor for a few seconds to make moist breadcrumbs and add that to the mix. Once I'm satisfied it's well mixed I put it into an ovenproof casserole, shape it, and in she goes at 375 degrees for an hour and twenty minutes. Like I said, that's a basic recipe, but the real fun begins when you twist it a bit. Would you like to add some liquid smoke? Be my guest! How about frying up some mushroom slices and adding them while you're mixing? Go right ahead! Why not make a pocket in the center and hide a good sized chunk of your favorite cheese in there before you bake it? Absolutely no reason why you shouldnt! Straight venison, or a mix of other meats? Whatever you'd like! As I said, it's a basic recipe that has a million variations, and the only limitations you have are in your own mind.
