Quantum's are made by Zebco and for last several years mfg in china. I have a old Quantum Iron BC model (Jap made) & its still going strong. Seems like when many reel mfgers moved their mfg operations from Japan to China or Korea.....a bigtime quality decrease occurred. I also have Diawa & Shimano's(Jap & Chinese) and found the same thing. Some of the higher end Shimanos (Calcutta line etc) are still jap. I bot a Shimano Calcutta CT400 and its still good Jap quality.

It is *awful* to say but can't we make anything in this country anymore? I just got a new Mitchell 310xe thinking Mitchell went back to making them in France or US but sure enough it is stamped made in China... And you couldn't see it till you open the package... I think this country is in for a *Rude Awakening*. MM
