I use an Ugly stick rod and a Shimano spinning reel combo myself. Never had any problems at all. Getting into fly fishing this year for the first time. Talk about confusing... makes me feel as though I've never fished before.

Guess my favorite outfit would be my Fenwick Golden Eagle with Shimano Calcutta 400CT bait caster. Most ive ever spent for an outfit but after 40 plus years of fishing...i deserved it if i must say so myself!!! ;D Rod was around 150 & reel 200.
