Looks like a great day boxie30!! Congrats! Steelhead fishing is no doubt addictive, I grew up with Elk in my backyard, literally, fished past dark MANY a night....just ONE more cast syndrome..... ;D

zodiakgsps Its probably a good thing its not in my backyard I'd never see the misses.
I make about a 45 min to 1hr each trip up but usually well worth it this spring tho only made it up two times with no luck.
mainly fish crooked but looking into other tribs maybe you have some suggestions with out giving up your favorite spot.
Thanks

Usually once trout operner comes in I stay around here.
How late will the steelies be in the tribs I thought they start back to the main lake around now.
may have a chance the 21st would deffinatly like to get dad back up there. I think they are going to put stockies in crooked this year?
I fish close to 90 I think its liningston rd. not for sure tho

I never fished that high on Elk, never needed to. I lived right around the corner from Elk Valley school, top of Whitemans Hill bridge, just walked down the hill & fished. I still go there when I fish Elk, or Girard Borough Park, both good spots.....but the Trestle above the bridge, or just below the bridge, definitely my fav spots! I've caught steelies opening day of trout and 2 weeks past, large rainbows also. You can find an occasional nice brown in the summer even, in the holes, last year around late June, I caught some HUGE cats by the bridge!!

If you get the opportunity Take it!
You hook your first one, the adrenaline you experience will have you wanting more.
