What the Chit! did the fish commision even stock the creeks?? I think mrlongbeard and myself picked the wrong creek to fish! we were at Thorn creek in southern butler county, and you wanna talk about slow? well it was, only a few deep holes and the creek was down and clear, ran into a couple of guys who were doing good catching them on redworms, mrlongbeard got one and released it, I was catching chubs:) back home now trying to warm up our feet, the water was cold!!!

The morning was slow On the little shenango caught 2 and only saw one more caught.
Talked to a guy that helped stock and he said they only stocked two buckets at every bridge.
Went to a larger hole around noon put on the white rooster tail and just slaughtered them.
Caught a total of 13 for the day kept the largest 5.
The biggest was 14 and the smallest kept was 10 1/2. The average size was around 11 in.
As soon as I gets some pics I'll post them.
LOL to everyone looks like it going to be some tough fishing ahead. But thats why they call it fishing ?

Everyone else but me was catching them on Yellow Creek today(the creek not the lake) All I caught was a 100* fever and a nasty cough, I had stayed out from 8 until 1 hoping to hook one. I did see several other anglers with limits of some good size fish. One guy caught a 24 incher out of the hole right in front me . I seen to young anglers(between 8 and 10) with a large palomino

My son and I could only fish two hours today at Twin Lakes in Westmoreland County. I caught two and he caught one. Very slow while we were there. Two ospreys caught more trout than the anglers. At least it was fun to watch them.

Dad and I started at chest creek today in clearfield county fished for 2 hours and nothing. Creek was high and muddy. We went to 2 other creeks and our first stop and 1 creek dad caught 15 and I caught 13 We went to the 2nd creek and me and dad was at one hole and pulled 26 out of that one hole. As fast as we could bait up we were catchin them.
First day total: Dad 30 Me: 28 we caught 58 trout combined today. Dad also caught a 24" rainbow and he threw it back. We dont keep em'. Had a heck of a day.
2 years ago one the first day, me dad and my uncle caught 204 combined. Alot of people complain about the way the fish commission stocks the creeks and streams but you just got to know how to fish. Cant wait for day 2. My goal for the weekend is at least 50 trout, we will see how many i can get...already caught 28, 22 to go.

Whitetail101
This Yellow creek you talked about is it the one near Mercer, PA
I'd like to start learning some of the creeks near Mercer, so that way like Wholaverj Said if your not catching them on one stream you have another or two to try.
I fish the l. shenango and had to go several miles downstream to get into the fish yesterday as I earlier posted.
