I'll be up in a few weeks probably hitting the creeks on Sundays being archery is my first priority this time of year. I do alot of my fishing between rt. 20 and int. 90 so I should have a little time unless we get alot of rain in the next few weeks. Zodiac you'll have to keep us posted on the progress of the run if you don't mind

No problem boxie30....talked to Gary from Poor Dicks today & he said they're slamming them.....I'm going tomorrow at some point!! Rains didn't affect water levels though....creeks are still low, they're only up to the Elk creek access area so far, they're getting some off the walls of Walnut too & lakeside of Trout Run.

Boxie30, you fish Elk or Walnut? Let me know if you want to go before the runs in full swing, I can show you some good spots below rte 20 on Elk where they're hitting them now(actually, they're still below rte 5)....I grew up on Elk & have fished it for over 30 yrs......

I went last night for a while.....got there pretty late though, around 6:30 -7 pm. Saw several caught, but no hook-ups myself, creeks low & clear & LOTS of guys already around available holes - didn't get a very good spot.

Actully crooked and raccoon less anglers to woory about...
but always looking for other spots would be nice to get a few parking areas on either elk or walnut then I should be able to pick up on the holes and runs ect.
It'll be a cpouple of weeks before I'd make it up due to sons in fall baseball on sundays and daughter is a cheerleader on sat. for football. other part of sat. is for archery now.
I'll definatly take you up on your offer on the spots, I now last spring you gave me directions to a place on elk I believe with a bridge or tressel not for sure which.
I had a horrible spring up there this year.
I greatly apprciate it zodiac

I have been up the last 3 weekends. Squeeking out 1 a day. The fish are packed into walnut. I have been fishing elk because of less pressure. They are hitting wooly buggers, single eggs and minnows.

Nice fish Zippy, where ya fishing on Elk? ? I hit the launch area off 5 when I went only due to the water levels & not many being upstream farther......next time I'll fish Whitemans bridge area or the park. You smoke them? I like to catch them, but don't eat them......release only unless my bil wants one to smoke.
