I wouldn't says that i follow the in season truck but i do occasionally check on the date that they'll stock a particular stream and possibly hit that area a few days after the stocking. As far as success, I usually had good days catching at least a limit of fish (I catch and release unless someones asked for some then I'll give them away)

I'm with boxie. I'll check the schedule and hit the stream a day or two later.

Once fished a creek for about 4 hours before a stock truck showed up. Neither me or my dad had checked the schedule and where having such good luck on trout with a ton of 5 and 6 inch rockbass thrown in that we asked the guys to dump their buckets down stream alittle bit. After helping them carry a couple dozen 5 gallon buckets full of trout down stream I went back to the little hole my dad was protecting and continued to catch fish while the truck chasers fought to get a bite.

I lived on Elk creek for 7 yrs & fished it almost every day....never paid any mind to the stocking trucks/times. Now with the crowds thicker than ever, I generally never fish the first few days.

There are a group here who volunteer to help stock, you can watch some of these guys with their lil note pads marking where the big fish were put and when the stocking is over they make a bee line right back to those spots.......(real Sportsmen)

Fished one time the same day they stocked a local lake and had poor success, fished the same lake the next day and wham!!! limited out.
My experiences with the stocking trucks(have helped do the stocking a few times) is the fish are not hungry the first day they are stocked(as they are fed heavily the day before they are to be stocked) but are hungry again a day or two later.
I usually check the schedule and plan to fish the day after a stocking.

I don't chase trucks, but in years past I used to ride along and help stock quite often. It's amazing how crazy some folks will get to catch a ten inch trout. Just last year I went along with my kids to help stock the Yellow Breeches. We put in a nice brown about 18-19 inches and carried another bucket downstream. When we got back in less than three minutes one fella already had the brown on his stringer. I was going to bite my tongue about the lack of class...but my 6 year old daughter didn't. She walked right up to the guy stuck her finger in his face and said "You're not nice!" He quit bragging to the spectators and packed it in!
