I just bought some exciting new line. After going to Vanish flouro last year with great results...I decided to expand my line experiments and break out of my traditional mono- Berkeley Trilene ands Stren mold...and keep trying some of these new and improved lines. This latest is called Triple fish X rated. Its a copolymer...that is a flouro core with nylon outer....advertised as xtra small diameter, xtra abrasion resistance, and xtra limp for smooth casting. I checked out some positive on line reviews, and the price tag was appealing....my 2lb vanish flourocarbon costs $10 for 250 yds...this stuff was $6.99 for 440 yds at Gander Mtn. I went with the 4lb., boasting that smaller diameter in the green tint, for the snowmelt green early season streams I fish. I prefer 2lb for my general trout fishing, but I couldn't find that offering, though the 4lb is probably small enough for early season. Tonight I spooled up my Browning micro with about 150 yds of the stuff...went on very smooth and semed very limp and supple with very little spool memory. I'm excited to try this stuff Saturday....I'll keep you posted on the results. Anyone else use this stuff? Here's a link to a review: www.tacklewarehouse.com/descpageLNETRIPFISH-TFXRL.html

What brand do you use? I heard a lot of flourocarbon line is stiff and won't lay right on the spool.

I have never had the prob I use Vanish and will not go back to mono unless their is some major changes. It doesn’t stretch like the mono and you can use a higher pound test with the same amount of hook ups. The line is very hard to see in the water which is why it is effective.

Flourocarbon is suppoed to have the same refractive index as water, so appears invisible to the fish. We used Vanish for steelhead in Elk and walnut last fall in low clear conditoins and were still bale to hook many fish on 6lb line. Don't think the mono would have done that. Also seemed responsive, low stretch and fairly resistant to abrasion. Only negative i've heard is in freezing temps it has been known to get brittle. Don't know personally as I haven't used it in that weather. Maybe marshrat has used it ice fishing and can expound?
