Sat morning was awful. Started at Creek rd near "Sky hook"....I didn't catch a troiut the first two hours..water was very cold, saw only a few caught. By 10 am water was warmin a bit and I moved about a hujnfred yards or so up the creek...finally stared picking up a few...managed about six between ten and noon, lost one small palomino twice....got a bite at sheetz in Mt Holly, drove over to mountain creek and upper breeches (pine rd) never fished just observed.....eneded up at boiling springs by the one lane bridge...must have been a couple hundred trout in the hole just above the bridge and about a dozen guys trying for them throwing big wads of power bait and spinners, not getting any....watched for a while then decidse I could ctah those fish as the water was warming up and the fish appeared active....i think they were just nervous from the pressure....rigged up my finesse setup...tiny float, 2lb leader, one waxworm on a #16 hook one tiny split shot....caught one on the first cast...then another, and another, and another.......I caught nearly 50 trout in the next three hours from that one hole!!! It was literally alst every cast....kinda felt bad about it....it was to easy....finally had enough and just walked away...nothing over 13"

i didnt catch anything saturday.... fished mountain creek the whole time (back behind the deer lodge) it was really cold in the morning & after being out since 6 (on bikes) me & my friend headed over to my grandparents around 10:30 to warm up...
went back out around 11 & walked along the creek upstream (south, following the railroad that run along RT. 34)... still no luck so around 1:30 we hiked up to 34 & walked back to my grandparents to go home... then we went up to the baseball fields for awhile, & then my friend went home... i headed back out & fished 6-7:30... had a few bites all day but couldnt get em hooked
jakebird, how far away from the bridge were you in holly(the one by sheetz on mill street)?

Other than stopping to eat and relieve at Sheetz, we were just driving, exploring the area around Mt Holly. I've never fished Mt. creek....just thought I'd see what was going on up that way...saw some nice ones being caught way up Pine rd near the church above the park. There is a whopper rainbow up there way over 20"...they couldn't get him...Boiling Springs vicinity saw the most action for sure....plenty of people catching them in the lake and creek nearby. We ought to hook up and fish sometime...I'll show you my "finesse" setup.

We did pretty good....it was windy and cold ,but the Trout were hitting me hard since the time of opening...i ended up with 4 rainbows and miss'd quite a few others...Seems they liked the powerbait paste and were going crazy over it...it was funny cause no one else was catching and all the action was down and around me...I do have to save the Mergensers show'd up and were eatting Trout also...something has to be done about that, alot of guys were complaining...Thunderbolt125
