never saw one in that caliber. but this round is super quick and kicks like a mule. the great thing is now they load it in three levels of performance. 30-06, 300 win and full power.

For some reason I think SAVAGE did offer them for one year or so, it was a special run of them with a non-catalog number, similar to what BIG GREEN does with the 760 pumps, in 35 whelen, 35 remington and 25/06, never listed but the exist... I don't remember who, what or where but it seems to me I saw one...wonder if the rotating bolt face could handle that type of pressure. LONGBEARD is right, out of a sporter weight rifle, your asking for recoil alright..that's about my personal limit for uncomfortable. I have alotof friends that side-hill hunt up in the mountains and this cartridge and caliber are by far their overwhelming choice..you can't beat .30 cal power for hunting..that extra 200-300 fps means alot more than that with energy..I have friends that regularly drop whitetails in their tracks at 1000 yards + with this beast...if you need one long range banger, this would be the choice without question...AWESOME display of power!!!

Savage did offer the Ultra mag in their 116FSAK series. I believe it came with their adjustable muzzle brake.
