THAT's what the future will look like for all of us that manage to live long enough....it seems that whatever the military adopts over time manages to be the norm in the hunting woods after a few generations..they are legal in almost all of the states except PA...when I'm in OHIO, which is almost all the time at this time of the year..ALL of the varmint hunters are carrying them, they are extremely accurate, lightweight and lots of firepower....I see that DPMS is offerring a version in .300 SAUM..would be an outstanding big game banger...THE FUTURE AWAITS US......hard to believe the bolt someday will be replaced..but it like all the others before will go by the wayside.

Although this gun is very accurate, it will never be taken in the woods for hunting. As a matter of fact, I asked my son if he wanted to take it to WV for deer. He said, no way, it's just for plinking.

the point i was making is some people would use the semi auto feature as a crutch for poor marksmanship. tough by now i would have gotten the Jim Zumbo treatment.

i'm not against semi-auto but your are right the woods are scary with all the shoot now and ask later mentality. with seaon over lapping season it would be crazy to let that much firepower in some nut's hands. truegrit and i were hunting a few years ago when to nuts came running across the field shooting at deer. think what they might do with semi-autos.

No I'm not against them either. I just don't think they are needed to hunt with. Besides I like to eat my meat not turn it into a spickling can.HA HA Just my 2 cents

I have seen guys turn the ol rem 7600 into a 30-06 semi! Empty every round into the trees never hitting the deer. I think the scarest thing we have in the woods is not a semi, but the 65% of the people who could not shot the ground if it was not for gravity.

BOY..I can remember those days when I'd actually sit there and laugh wondering how could those guys be aiming shooting that fast..boy some of them had alot of practice sliding that action open and closed...funny part is some of them 760's were amazing accurate..I had one in .244 that would put em' in a small little clover leaf...wish Remington would make a .35 whelan in black synthetic..I'd buy one...
