we got our license and trout stamps and was all geared up to go and have only been out about 6 times this year.
last year we didn't go much either but that was because we didn't get our license until late, still it was some very eventful fishing trips.
this year they never stocked the places when they said they were going to and when they did the fish were tiny and far and few between.
we would love to go do some fishing for bigger fish such as cats and carp but do not know anywhere reasonably close to do so.
trout fishing is horrible now that the heat has moved in and the ponds we fish only seem to hold tiny bluegills and sunfish.
anyone know of any places near us that actually have bigger fish?
we would sure love to find some and i am sure our son would have a blast also.
what makes it worse is that we have to fish from the shore and we can't walk a million miles due to my health issues

I found as things warm normally rivers will be your best bet especially below dams etc where water is moving & you have some depth.

i think the nearest river to us is at Harrisburg which is more then we care to drive for a few hrs. fishing, especially with gas being what it now is
we were told the other day that there is a pay by the day catfish pond near us but we have yet to figure out where its at, we know the area but have been unable to find it.
