It is Buck. Light recoil. That alone makes it perfect for light, short action rifles. The round hits like a ton, and can be used for up to Elk with a good construction bullet!

I can't understand why this little model 7 doesn't have a bigger following than it has...it is a fantastic rifle..super accurate, lighweight, easy to handle and point and easy to aim..the people who shoot them, love em' and swear by them..but for what ever reason they just are not selling...maybe there's not enough left after all the other bills..I bought one for my son in .300 SAUM, the stainless magnum vesion , it's the best all around big game rifle ever produced by the factory is what Zumbo stated and it's already out of production..just don't get it, mine will shoot 3/4 inch groups all day long.. as far as the 7mm/08, one of the best if not the best wildcatters gone factory..it's only a couple of hundred feet per second behind the 7mm mag.. a fantastic in-betweener...more than enough to kill anything that walks in this state,, just use a premium bullet and save yourself the problems of junk ones...
